
- Plant in deep, rich, fertile, very well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade.
- It is especially important that the soil is not water-logged in winter; that spells death to the roots.
- Space 24-36″ apart. Once planted, do not disturb. The long taproots can easily break.
- Intolerant of hot, humid conditions; thrives in areas with cool summers.
- For best effect, plant in groups of no more than three.
- Foliage dies back soon after plant flowers.
- Grows 30-36″ tall.
- Blooms May-June.
- Hardy in zones 3-7.
